Job Description

To provide a high standard of clinical care in IPD to patients under the supervision of senior medical staff
To take detailed round and enter the clinical notes for all patients assigned to them in their respective duty hours
To ensure documentation is complete such as Initial Evaluation, Plan of care, consent of patients/attendants , Drug administration chart
To ensure all pending reports are collected
To respond to all emergency calls
To complete the cross referral Form and directly inform the respective consultant
You will be responsible for any Blood Transfusion happening in the ward and must ensure that relevant documentation is complete
Death intimation and Death Certificate should be completed immediately in consultation with admitting unit/Consultant
Death summary should be completed during the duty hours and shown to the concerned consultant in day time and in case death occurs at night, the summary should be attached to the case sheet for the consultant to check the next day
To maintain an Over register and give a complete handover to the reliving doctor
In case of any day discharges, the duty doctor must prepare a complete discharge summary and get it approved by the attending consultant. In case of Night discharges, a hand written discharge summary should be given to the patients and one copy should be attached to the case sheet for further necessary actions.
Ensuring duty cover in case proceeding for leave.
