gall bladder
I am writing to you to convey my sincere appreciation for the care and medical attention my mother received at Max Hospital, Mohali recently. My parents reside in Chandigarh. My mother, Mrs Tripta Trehan, was taken to Max Mohali on 5th Sept – she had been complaining of mild but constant pain in abdomen for many days prior to that but was in a lot of pain and agony on that day. I stay in Gurgaon; managed to locate contact number of Dr Ashutosh Sood, General Manager at the hospital – spoke to him to personally help and then asked my Dad to take her there – though was a bit apprehensive letting him go alone having seen really poor quality attention in one of the leading hospitals in Gurgaon recently. Before I could even take a flight to Chandigarh – my mother was taken for an emergency surgery as doctors diagnosed serious stone aggregation in her gall bladder and recommended that the gall bladder be removed. I was still apprehensive as I have seen / heard of hospitals using such means to make money but decided to go as per the advise from attending doctors – Dr Bedi in this case. For the next 3 days, I stayed in the hospital attending to my mother. This is where I saw the difference. I was really impressed with the quality and intensity of nursing care staff, high quality general management of the hospital and of course the completely committed medical attention we received from all the attending doctors. I know quality of doctors is very important for the reputation of a hospital but having had some not very good experiences at a top hospital in Gurgaon in the last few months, I have come to this firm conclusion that it is the overall experience at the hospital that matters the most to the patient in particular. It was really heart-warming to see nursing staff smiling and pepping my mother continually or sometime even coming in and holding their arms around her or simply hugging her as she fought her physical and mental battles. Everyone from the security staff to housekeeping teams serving with such positive energy and commitment. My mom is back to her normal self now and I owe a lot of that to your team in Mohali. I personally went and met Dr. Ashutosh Sood a few times during my stay. I had reached out to him from Gurgaon for help when my parents had to go to the hospital on their own. My dad tells me that he took personal care in ensuring that they were comfortable and attended to with absolute urgency. I smiled at him a few times while at the hospital as I would see him marching his troops around. He would come in to see us everyday – chatting up with my mother, pushing her to get up and walk. He was a sheer pleasure to interact with – a gem of a person, a person with strong positive personality – very well respected by his troops there. A very special word of thanks to him for being there when I needed someone to take care of my parents as I was on my way. I will also like to mention Dr Bedi, whose medical care my mother was under all this while. Another treasure you have in the hospital – totally committed and very intense. On one occasion when my mother refused to get up as she was being asked to walk – he personally came in and took her for a couple of rounds around the passage escorting her personally, chatting with her and pepping her up. I don’t think you find doctors like him these days. I own and run a reasonable sized organization myself and I know how difficult is it to maintain a culture of “services with a smile” right through the organization. I compliment you for establishing a culture of care and having built a team that upholds it for you. Congratulations and I wish you and your team a great success! Many thanks once again for everything
