“We must embrace pain and burn it as fuel for our journey ” – Kenji Miyazawa

I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma stage III BS on July 21st, 2015 which is a cancer of the lymphatic system, which is part of our immune system. I was unescorted and stunned the moment  I was versed to be suffering from it.The words in the report shook the ground beneath me, but I was lucky enough to find a new stable spot to stand. Each time, I was unsettled for awhile, then eventually got used to the change and found a new normal. I went through several tests for about 4 months with no detection and on the other hand my conditions was getting worsened day by day. Even walking and breathing had became upstream for me. As everyone do, We also went for several hospitals in search of hope. I came to Max along with my friend RS where I met Dr R Ranga Rao and we decided this is the place where I am going to get treated. Being a non- Delhite, the toughest part was to survive such a battle staying away from my home for such a long period. Cancer may had reduced my Physical Activities but It could not touch my mind, heart, and soul. I kept reading several motivating books, about this disease and watched movies which never failed to boost me up but my main motivating factor was my family, friends and the hospital staff. Not Everyone with cancer is lucky enough to get the opportunity to thanks to the people who made this possible. Despite the stress and difficulties that I encountered, coping with cancer helped me grow stronger as a person. It made me realize that life is full of surprises, good ones and not so good ones. It made me appreciate the people I m surrounded with as well as little things in life that most people tend to overlook. I had never imagined a hospital with so much cheerful and helping staff until I experienced this myself at Max Shalimar bagh. The thought of going to hospital and getting chemotherapy never frightened me with the hospital staff at my side. I would also like to thanks to some of my friends made during this journey (hospital staff)- Dr Kaycee Malik, Nisha, Neeraj, Joshni Di, Kim, Simmi, Archana di, Rachna di, Sonia di, Jonson, Indu and other staffs who I may have forget to mention. They always weared a smile in their face no matter what which provided a positive and healthy environment.  I want to thanks Dr R Ranga Rao for providing me support at every level possible.
