Heart attack symptoms in real life are not so Hollywood type. The signs aren’t always as clear as shown in the movies. However, some people do experience movie-like symptoms. On the other hand, some people have reported uneasy for vague discomfort that may not be a clear indication of a heart attack. Heart attack symptoms in men are slightly different from that in women. We at Max Healthcare care about your health and today we will discuss the symptoms of heart attack in men.

As compared to women, men are at higher risk of suffering from a heart attack. So, it’s important that you have a clear idea about the common heart attack symptoms in men.

#1 Chest Pain

Chest Pain is the most common heart attack symptom in men. However, the nature and intensity of chest pain can vary from person to person. Many heart attack survivors have reported different types of pains. Some feel as if their heart was being squeezed or was pulled by a rope around it. On the other hand, other survivors suffered heavy pressure on the chest as if something heavy was kept right in the middle of the chest. Any unusual pain, when experienced around the chest, should be immediately reported to the doctor.

#2 Upper Body Pain

Pain in the upper body is the next most common heart attack symptom in men. Pain in the arms, below the chest and up in the jaw and neck also signify heart attack. In cases where there is little or no pain in the chest, it becomes difficult for the person to identify it as a heart attack. If you experience any of these symptoms apart from or with chest pain, seek immediate medical from a reputed doctor.

#3 Shortness of Breath

Falling short of breath after a heavy workout is one thing but finding yourself unable to breathe after mild or no exertion is something to watch out for. Of all the heart attack symptoms in men that don’t cause pressure or pain, shortness of breath is one that needs to be taken seriously. If you find yourself feeling like you’ve just come home after a long run, don’t panic, inform your family and see a doctor as soon as possible.

#4 Dizziness and Cold Sweats

Light-headedness, feeling sick in the stomach and breaking out in cold sweat are other vague symptoms that indicate a heart attack. Also, if the level of dizziness is so intense that you may feel like fainting, consult your doctor as soon as possible. The chances are that you may not have all these symptoms or you may have all of them. Never ignore any health-related condition that you are unable to understand or is new to you.

#5 Racing Pulse and Anxiety

Anxiety and racing pulse when coupled with chest pain or any other symptom mentioned could indicate real trouble. Any sudden overwhelming sense of anxiety should be reported to the doctor immediately for the required treatment.

Warning signs vary from person to person, and they may not always be apparent, sudden and severe. If you experience any of the indications stated above, it is vital that you get the treatment fast. Take care of yourself and your heart’s health by limiting your alcohol, fatty food, red meat intake. In addition, if you smoke regularly, try and quit as soon as possible. Stay healthy, stay happy!
