Although diabetes cannot be cured, it can be treated very successfully. you can get your prediabetes test done before getting diabetes, which tells you whether you have diabetes or not and it is better than prediabetes treatment or curing diabetes. The main aim of treatment of all types of diabetes is to achieve blood glucose, control high blood pressure and high cholesterol levels as near to normal as possible.
This, together with a healthy lifestyle, will help ensure wellbeing and provide protection against long-term complications.
Stay Active: Being active is good for all of us but is especially important for people with diabetes. Physical activity, combined with healthy eating and medication that you may be taking will help you to manage your diabetes and prevent long term complications. If you have concerns at all about becoming active, never be afraid to ask for advice. How to start: Start gradually with a walk (can be done any time of the day) Try to achieve Ideal Body Weight Eat a balanced diet Tips to Remember: Eat three light meals a day especially with small mid meals. Choose nutritious snacks.
Eat more vegetables and fruits. Eat more whole and husk pulses than washed. Eat more whole-wheat products than refined. Take less fat especially saturated fats; use combination oils. Eat more of chutney than pickles and preserved food. Practice portion control while eating outside. Never starve yourself while observing a fast. Have fresh lime water/soda instead of juice.
Protect your body from injury because in people with diabetes, wounds of the hand or foot do not heal quickly, and due to non-healing of foot injury, you may develop a foot ulcer, which is also called a diabetic foot ulcer. And diabetic foot ulcer treatment should be done only in hospitals with better medical facilities.
