Wash vegetables and fruits thoroughly to avoid bacterial and viral infections. Drink boiled water to avoid water-borne diseases. GI diseases (gastric problems) are common during the monsoons. Hence, special attention must be paid on one's intake. Probiotics like curd and Yakult prove excellent for the system and help in maintaining gut flora and proper bowel activity. Due to high humidity levels during the monsoon season, one must drink plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration due to excessive sweating. Drink up coconut water, fresh lime water, freshly made juices, lassi and eat fresh soups. Limit consumption of fried / oily food. Go for light and fresh cooked food instead. Avoid eating food from outside too often. Eat a balanced diet with small frequent meal patterns. Go green.go vegetarian this monsoon.
