Liposuction is the removal of unwanted body fat by suction using a surgical vacuum. It is a cosmetic procedure and is carried out to improve a person’s appearance. It is performed with an objective of slimming and smoothing the contours of abdomen, hips, calves, thighs, arms, back, neck, or face. A liposuction procedure may include more than one site like abdomen, back, and thighs all on the same day.

Most commonly used for cosmetic body shaping, this procedure is also used to reduce the breast size in men having enlarged breasts (gynecomastia) or to remove fat tumors (lipoma).

What should be your expectations of Liposuction?

You will see a noticeable difference in the shape of your body soon after surgery. However, drastic improvement will be apparent after four to six weeks when most of the swelling has subsided. After three months, any persistent mild swelling will disappear and final contour will be visible. Please avoid consuming Aspirin and Vitamin E containing medications at least 7days prior to your surgery.  In case you are considering liposuction, it is important that you have realistic expectations.
