Fellowships and Courses in the Breast Unit under the aegis of MIME

Breast Surgical Fellowship at Max Hospital Patparganj- Started in November 2018. The first Fellow is Dr Mallika Agarwal, who completes her tenure in November 2018.

Lymphedema certificate course is held twice a year at Max Patparganj- started in October 2017, attended by 15 students of Physiotherapy from Delhi, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Aligarh and Moradabad




  • Breast Unit, Patparganj, participated in a multicenter trial, initiated by Tata Memorial Hospital- titled,’Randomized controlled trial to assess blockade of voltage-gated sodium channels during surgery in operable breast cancer (VGSC Study). We contributed over 100 patients to this trial, the second highest contributor after Tata Memorial Hospital in a span of 1 year. Follow up studies continuing.
  • Breast Unit, Patparganj and Saket, are currently involved in yet another multicenter trial with Tata Memorial Hospital, titled, ‘A Phase II Randomised Controlled Study of Inj Proluton ( Hydroxyprogesterone caproate) as single dose preoperative therapy in patients with high-risk operable breast cancer.


  • ML28714: An Indian Multicentric open-label prospective phase IV study to evaluate safety and efficacy of Trastuzumab in HER2 positive, node positive or high-risk node negative breast cancer as part of a treatment regimen consisting of Doxorubicin, Cyclophosphamide, with either Docetaxel or paclitaxel or Docetaxel and carboplatin. Completed recruitment and presently on follow up
  • ML29282:A Phase IV, Multicenter, Open label, Single-Arm study of Pertuzumab(In combination with Trastuzumab and Docetaxel) In first-line treatment of Indian patients with HER2- positive advanced (Metastatic or Locally Recurrent Breast Cancer. Presently enrolling.
  • COMPLEMENT-1: An open-label, multicenter, Phase III b study to assess the safety and efficacy of ribiciclib(LEE011) in combination with letrozole for the treatment of men and pre/postmenopausal women with hormone receptor(HR+) HER2-negative(HER2-) advanced breast cancer(aBC) with no prior hormonal therapy for advanced cancer. Completed recruitment and presently on follow up

IMPassion131 trial

  • A Study of Atezolizumab and Paclitaxel Versus Placebo and Paclitaxel in Participants With Previously Untreated Locally Advanced or Metastatic Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC) (IMpassion131) - it is the only available clinical trial of immunotherapy in breast cancer in New Delhi
  • Phase 4 Trial of TDM-1 in metastatic HER2+ breast cancer progressed on trastuzumab - finished recruiting, now on follow up
  • Prospective observational trial of Quality of Life and Toxicity for patients with breast cancer undergoing dose-dense chemotherapy
  • Dr Vineeta/Veda can inform a few more trials which are ongoing here
