Clinical Directorate

To Mrs. Kavita's home when Nurse Surbjot Kaur from our Home Care Service observed that the 5-day-old baby had abdominal distention. Mrs. Kavita then informed Nurse Kaur that the baby was refusing to feed on which they opted to go for an investigation, wherein the baby's bilirubin level was 19.5.

Nurse Kaur immediately informed Dr. Megha, the neonatologist and advised the parents to get the baby admitted to the hospital as soon as possible. The baby's father was a doctor himself and ignored Nurse Kaur's plea. It took a lot of effort to persuade the mother and Nurse Kaur didn't give in till they relented and admitted the baby.

The baby was admitted under Dr. Ajay Karkra's care. The team of pediatricians found that the baby had intestinal obstruction, and carried out a successful surgery that very day.

The baby was facing a life threatening situation and if she wouldn't have been brought to the hospital on time, the conditions would have worsened. Thankfully, the baby was treated well in time and discharged after two weeks. Today, she's healthy and happy like any other baby. If not for Nurse Kaur's persistence, a young life would have been lost.

The family remains indebted to Max for saving their child's life.
