Dr Chandola says, “Lung transplantation and combined heart lung transplantation is an excellent modality, especially for patients who have ILD, COPD with cystic fibrosis and bronchiectasis. It is a fairly simple process that involves registering a patient with a NOTTO registry”. At Max, we carry out single lung transplantation, double lung transplantation and combined heart-lung transplantation, depending upon the etiology of disease. Patient are required to stay in ICU for a week to up to 10 days. At least 3-4 weeks are required in the ward before discharging the patient.
