Advanced Computer Navigated Knee Replacement Surgery - Dr Ramneek Mahajan - DocTalk

Feb 21, 2017

During a knee replacement surgery, an orthopaedic specialist makes an incision in the knee area. Then he/she removes the affected surfaces of the knee joint and restores it with a prosthesis. The prosthesis includes 3 segments: the tibial segment (to restore the highest point of the tibia, or shin bone); the femoral part (to restore the finish of the thigh bone) and the patellar part (the base of the kneecap that rubs against the thighbone). Since its inception, computer navigated total knee replacement has garnered a lot of praise for being a highly accurate and sophisticated mode of knee replacement.
