Abhay is the Promoter, Chairman and Managing Director of Max Healthcare Institute Limited(MHIL). Prior to the acquisition and merger with MHIL, Abhay was the Promoter, Chairman and Managing Director of Radiant Life Care Private Limited. Both Radiant and Max Healthcare merged on 1st June 2020, resulting in the 2nd largest hospital company in India in terms of revenue. The combined entity has over 3500 beds at 17 locations including 12 hospitals and 5 day care centres.

Radiant has been the fastest growing hospital chain in India and had created its business at a scorching pace over the past decade. Commencing it’s journey in 2010 with 10 employees, today the group, after merger with Max Healthcare, employs over 15,000 people including 4,800+ doctors and 6000+ Nurses with a combined turnover in excess of Rs. 4000 crores.

Prior to Radiant, Abhay co-founded USD 350mn a Special Situations Private Equity Fund, where he made investments across sectors such as Mining, Financial Services, Agri-processing, Retail, Paper & Paperboards manufacturing, Textiles and Specialty Chemicals.

Abhay started his career as a restructuring professional with Arthur Andersen where he led their financial restructuring business and was subsequently part of the restructuring practice of E&Y and KPMG.

Abhay is an MBA from European University, Belgium and a Bachelor in Arts from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University.
