BRAIN ATTACK:

TAVI with sentinel protection device

in Max Super Speciality Hospital, Shalimar Bagh

A 66-year-old male was admitted to Max Super Speciality Hospital, Shalimar Bagh. He had severe calcified aortic stenosis with LV dysfunction and was not a suitable candidate for surgical valve replacement. The cardiology team at Max Hospital, Shalimar Bagh, led by Dr. Naveen Bhamri, Dr. Devender Kumar Aggarwal and Dr. Sudhansu Sekhar Parida, evaluated the case and performed Transcatheter aortic valve insertion (TAVI) with a sentinel protection device.

It was the 16 th TAVI performed by the cardiology team and using the sentinel device this time. The Sentinel Cerebral Protection System (CPS) is the first and only device that helps protect you from the risk of stroke during TAVI. It works by capturing and removing embolic debris dislodging during TAVI before it can reach the brain.

The team was proud to share another gratifying achievement and was thankful to the entire team of doctors, staff and the management at Max Hospital, Shalimar Bagh, for their support in performing the first North Delhi Case and probably the first such case across pan max.
