Mohd. Mamnoon Hasan’s hearing ailment was first detected when he was 4 months old. The parents had opted for hearing aids and speech therapy sessions in Bangladesh but to no avail. At this point, they travelled to India and consulted Dr. Sanjay Sachdeva, Vice Chairman, ENT, who performed an MRI and CT Scan. The child was confirmed with 95 per cent hearing loss and advised cochlear implants. Post-implantation, Hasan has been quick to learn new words and respond promptly. This has been a life-changing gift to his parents. Hasan is steadily progressing towards forming complete sentences and living a normal, functional life.
