Myths and Facts About Height Growth in Children By Dr Vaishakhi Rustagi - DocTalk

Apr 18, 2018

In this video, Dr Vaishakhi Rustagi, Consultant at Max Super Speciality Hospital, Shalimar Bagh busts the myths and facts surrounding the height growth of both boys and girls. She describes how certain myths are prevalent in the society. Most people believe in myths like the height of boys and girls keeps growing until the age of 21 and 18 respectively. However, this is not true at all because 90% of the growth of a girl is complete when she attains her first menstrual cycle while that of a boy is complete when he gets his moustache and beard. Hence, height is not dependent on age but when a boy or a girl attains puberty.
